Help Reduce the Spread of Covid-19 - Disinfect Your Phone

Clean your cell phone to reduce the spread of Covid-19

As a public service announcement, Delaney Computer Services, Inc, is urging you to clean and disinfect cell phones and other electronic devices such as tablets and laptop keyboards as they can carry Covid-19 Virus and other viruses and bacteria.

If you are near someone who coughs or sneezed around your cell phone or tablet, droplets from an infected person may land on your device, or you may touch an infected surface and transfer the virus to your device.  There is an increased risk of putting your face, nose, and mouth on or near your phone with your phone. It could be possible to infect yourself.

How do I clean my cell phone?

One way to clean your phone would be to use at least 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipes or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to wipe down the hard surfaces of your phone or tablet.  Please note that you should also disinfect cases, most of which you should wash with soap and water if they are plastic.

You may need to clean your phone frequently if you place it on infected surfaces.  We would recommend at least twice per day, if not more, depending on how often you are disinfecting your hands.

Please note it is possible to damage some devices with Chlorine bleach, so please take care while sanitizing your devices.
